CH2M HILL OMI to accept two public-private partnership awards this weekSandy Springs, Seattle partnerships earn national recognitionDenver, Nov. 13, 2006 — The National Council for Public-Private Partnerships (NCPPP) will recognize CH2M HILL OMI and its municipal partners with two of its coveted 2006 Public-Private Partnership Awards during a luncheon at its annual meeting Wed., Nov. 15 in Alexandria, Va. The partnership for the operation of the new city of Sandy Springs has been selected to receive an Innovation Award, and the Seattle Cedar Water Treatment Facility has been selected to receive an Infrastructure Award. CH2M HILL OMI partnerships earned two of only six project awards NCPPP will issue this year. The CH2M HILL OMI-City of Sandy Springs was lauded as a landmark, first-of-its kind partnership. The integrated design-build-operate team for the Seattle Cedar Water Treatment Facility was praised as a model of alternate project delivery. “Public-private partnerships are at the heart of what we do, so it’s a tremendous honor to be recognized for these two projects,” says Senior Vice President Gary Miller. “CH2M HILL OMI strives to listen carefully to our clients to ensure we’re delivering custom solutions that best meet their needs and the needs of the ultimate customers: the citizens.” The NCPPP awards recognize exemplary projects and services that illustrate the best practices and innovative approaches in the use of public-private partnerships. The partnership award winners have effectively combined the strengths of each sector for the most cost-effective delivery of services and infrastructure, while maintaining an appropriate level of public control. “Award recipients are selected through an extremely thoughtful process by a committee of leading authorities in the field of public-private partnerships and this year’s competition was especially formidable,” says NCPPP Executive Director Rick Norment, who will also present the award before the Sandy Springs city council at its regularly scheduled meeting Tues., Nov. 21. The NCPPP is a non-profit educational institute with membership from both the public and private sectors. With previous wins for projects in Grants, N.M.; Hinesville, Ga.; and Live Oak, Fla. (twice), CH2M HILL OMI has earned a total of six NCPPP awards during the past seven years.
